Looking for an Xbox One Elite controller and can't find one? You're not alone, as the premium pad is sold out basically everywhere. Now, Microsoft has warned that the $150 controller will continue to face "limited supply" through March 2016.
In a statement to Tech Insider, Microsoft said it's sending new stock to retailers every week, but, because the controllers are flying off the shelves, supply will continue to be short for a few months more.
"While the Xbox Elite wireless controller is sold out in many retailers around the world, we are working quickly to get more units in the hands of fans," the representative said. "We expect more units to arrive at retailers each week but supply may be limited through March 2016."
As of today, December 31, the controllers remain unavailable at Best Buy, GameStop, Amazon, and Microsoft's own stores.
There are other ways to get your hands on an Elite controller. You can buy the $500 Xbox One Elite model that launched in November; it comes with a 1 TB console and the unique, transforming controller. In addition, GameStop is offering an Elite + Halo 5: Guardians bundle for $200.
The Elite controllers are sold out because Microsoft "totally underestimated" the appeal of the pad, CMO Chris Capossela recently said. Microsoft originally wanted to produce more, but the feedback from E3 was that $150 was too steep, so they scaled back.
